Wandering Toward God - SERMON NOTES

Eleven Aspects of Spiritual Wandering
1. Wandering with others (1:1-46): first census of wanderers → community
2. Wandering in order (1:47-2:34): arrangement of camp (cf. picture) → worship
3. Wandering while serving, part one (ch.3): intro to priests/levites (1 Peter 2:9) → ministry
4. Wandering while serving, part two (ch.4): various ministries of p’s/l’s (1 Cor. 12:4-7) → ministry
5. Wandering through sin (ch.5): sin is a reality and comes in many forms → worship
6. Wandering resistance (6:1-21): Nazirite (fuel of joy, control, taking sin seriously) → worship
7. Blessed wandering (6:22-27): true “blessing” is spiritual and undeserved → worship
8. Giving while wandering (ch.7): a tether to God while wandering → ministry
9. Wandering while serving, part three (ch.8): characteristics of true servant leaders → ministry
10. Remembering while wandering (9:1-14): cultivating corporate faithfulness → worship
11. Guided wandering (9:15-10:10): moving through life together with confidence → community
