As we continue this week in 1 John we will begin looking at our third and final theme from the book, a life of obedience. Truth and love are vital in the life of a believer, but they should always lead to a life of obedience. In our passage this week (1 John 1:5-2:2) we will see how God’s standard for obedience is perfection, our failure is certain, and Christ’s righteousness is necessary in paying the price for our disobedience.
