A young wealthy “good” guy kneels at Jesus’ feet and asks the foremost question of mankind, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” But the young man had 2 MAJOR Issues: 1) He failed to recognize the depth of his own sin, and 2) he wasn’t willing to give up his “here and now” wealth in exchange for treasure in Heaven. He worshiped mammon. May we all recognize our own sinfulness and our need for mercy and grace, and may we always be on the alert for thoughts and acts that prevent us from wholeheartedly following the Christ.
