Each year at this time, one of our current elders rotates off the team and we bring on another elder to the team. An important part of this process is to understand what God's Word says about who is qualified to serve as an elder (I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, I Peter 5:1-3). As we look at these qualifications, it is an opportunity to remember that these are characteristics that the Lord desires to cultivate within each of us through the Holy Spirit.
