What is "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?"
Here’s how it works: adults — college age and up — can register to host or attend a dinner. Once registration ends, the staff puts groups together very intentionally. We mix ages and stages of life, connect people who may not already know each other well, and create opportunities for new friendships and meaningful fellowship across our church family.
And here’s the fun part: if you’re attending, you don’t know who else is coming to dinner until you arrive! That element of surprise has made for a lot of laughter, great conversations, and wonderful connections over the years.

Why do we do it?
If you’ve been around Grace for very long, you may have heard someone mention what we call the “three-legged stool.” That’s simply a way we describe the three main components of life together at Grace: Corporate Worship, Sunday School, and Shepherding Groups. Those things help form the relational and spiritual structure of our church family, supporting the very DNA of Grace church - Worshipers in Community, Engaged in Ministry.
Each summer, our Shepherding Groups take a break. It gives our leaders and families an opportunity to rest, slow down a bit, and enjoy some extra margin during the summer months.
But many years ago, people began expressing that while they appreciated the break, they still missed gathering with others in the church family during the summer. They wanted opportunities to build relationships, spend time with people they didn’t already know well, and enjoy fellowship together in a more relaxed setting.
So, more than thirty years ago, after some brainstorming by the staff, “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” was born.
This summer, we’re bringing back “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner”! We’ll have two evenings available, Thursday, June 18, and Thursday, July 9 — 6:00 - 8:00pm.

Registration is underway for our first dinner:
You are invited to participate in a fun evening getting to know others in the Grace family. This dinner is open to all adults, college age and up. If you are willing to host a dinner, please indicate that when you register. (Depending on numbers, it is possible that not everyone who offers to host will be asked to do so.) After registration is closed (Sunday, June 7), a member of the staff will contact each host with a guest list. For those attending, your host will contact you to let you know their address and to assign you a menu item to bring.
